Are you a Palestinian woman filmmaker?  Whether you live inside or outside of the Palestinian Territories, we need you!  Her Film Project seeks interviews with, and guest posts by, Palestinian women filmmakers to discuss a specific film, their body of work and the challenges and joys of filmmaking.  Earlier this year, we created a page for the HFP website called 2013 Theme, which this year is "Palestinian Women Filmmakers."  Would you like to do an interview or guest post for the Her Film Project blog?  Contact Kyna to let her know, and if you can, please send a link to your work.  While we're open to working with Palestinian women filmmakers anywhere in the world, we have a major interest in working with filmmakers who live and work within the Territories of Gaza and the West Bank.

Whether you live in:
or if you live in:
or if you live somewhere else, we'd love to feature your work!
Do you know these names?

Annemarie Jacir
Alia Arasoughly
Cherien Dabis
Khadija Abu Ali
Rawan Damen
Etimad Wshah

These are just a few of the names of Palestinian women filmmakers, from one who has seen her film screen at Cannes in the Un Certain Regard section (Jacir, "Salt of this Sea") and another whose film was an official selection at Sundance (Dabis, "May in the Summer"), to one who lives in a refugee camp (Wshah).
Because we are global in our mission to support women filmmakers, because Palestine's voice is often ignored and silenced, and because Palestine has great talent and a growing population of women filmmakers who work within tightly proscribed and difficult circumstances, Her Film Project is dedicating 2013 to cover Palestinian women filmmakers within and outside of the Territories.

Do you know of a Palestinian woman filmmaker whose work you'd like to discuss and explore?  We need you, too!  Her Film Project is also seeking women filmmakers and writers who would like to write guest posts about a particular filmmaker, their body of work, or topics relevant to the discussion of Palestinian women filmmakers.  Contact Kyna if you'd like to write about a filmmaker.

Please share this post to get the word out about this 2013 theme! Thank you for your help.
